BLO MIDTOWN & BLO BRICKELL
ARE NOW OPEN IN MIAMI!
Extravagant up-dos, flamboyant bouffants, and fancy coiffures rocked the hot pink runway this past Thursday at Qua bottle lounge on 4th Street. Blo Austin’s sponsored event was a hit not only with the salon’s modeling “hair cadets,” or clientele, but also with the fashion and hair show’s awed onlookers.
The runway presentation was at 8 pm sharp, with styling by Austin favorites Estilo, DuO, Plain Ivey Jane, Etcetera, etc., Y&I, & Kendra Scott. With hairstyles as big as Texas can get them, the event and show was put on in a style of altruism much worthy of its holiday theme— the sponsors raised money for the Austin Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The venue, QUA is a nightclub by Yassine Enterprises, a locally based, nationally acclaimed entertainment and nightclub industry consultant firm. Qua has been included in the list of the Top 100 Nightclubs, proclaimed by Nightclub & Bar editorial.
Qua bartenders poured Blo-worthy cocktails at a special price exclusively for the night’s event, including “Ho Ho Blo,” made of Famous Vodka, pineapple juice, and grenadine; “Jingle Blo,” with Famous Vodka, grenadine, and sour; and “Blo Flake,” concocted with Famous Lemon Drop and blue curaçao. Yum!
Rivaling the deliciousness of the drinks was the eye-candy at the party. RSVPs came red carpet ready, only to find the pink carpeted floors of the iridescent venue. High heeled and high-haired, the women all dressed to the nines, while the men in tow bore equally as dashing looks.
And speaking of eye candy… the edible candy in attendance was a scene-stealer in itself. Sweet Sensations by Kim Kindig is a candy buffet service, and more. The set-up they brought along to Qua was delectable. There was pink, pink, and more pink on display in an elegant buffet style. Blow pops, Red Hot tamales, cinnamon candy sticks, white piña colada sours, cherry fruit jelly slices, red strawberry Twizzlers, pink Bubblegum Chiclets, pink lemonade Airheads, hot pink rock candy crystals, strawberry Tootsie Roll “frootsies,” peppermint and strawberry taffy, and pink and red chocolate covered Sixlets all flaunted their sweet blushing presence as part of the evening’s candy array.
Blo’s fashion show and party was an evening of solid fashion and fun, mimicking the environment of their shop and services. Located in central Austin on West 5th Street, Blo is a hair styling shop, with a menu of services that includes the following: Blo Out: the signature service with a variety of styles to choose from; Up Do A La Carte: the choose-your-own style, anything goes service; Hidden Assets: a “blo” out with clip-in extensions; Blo Girl: for mommy’s little girls; and Blo Bro: because even men love a scalp massage, wash and style. The “blo” outs have the option of hair-thickening extensions, deep conditions, and many different styles, like “high society,” “hunt club,” “red carpet,” and “holly would.” For explanations on these beautifying hair treatments and stylings, visit Blo at Fifth Street Commons or online at blomedry.com.
