blo opens in midtown miami

A few weeks ago, a new salon opened in Midtown. And what a cool salon it is! Canadian sisters, Sandi and Kailey unveiled Blo Midtown, a blow dry bar. I stopped in a few days ago to get the grand tour and I was blown away. LOVED IT!

I first got an invitation to come down during the frenzy that is Art Basel. Blo Midtown extended an offer to local bloggers and journalists to come get a blo, before heading down to the festivities. Since I have nothing to blo, and I had a jam packed schedule, I put it off until now.

Actually, I couldn’t figure out what a “blow dry bar” was exactly. Here’s the deal: It’s a hair salon where you can ONLY get a blow dry–no cut, no color, no mani/pedi. Blow. Dry. Only. And the blo will cost $35, regardless of your hair length, texture, etc. It’s a quick in and out salon. Here’s the Blo Hair Menu.

The location is amazing–part of The Shops at Midtown Miami. It’s on 1st Avenue, right across from Sustain and just down from Mercadito and Sugarcane Raw Bar. The area is a hotbed of cool spots!

And, I LOVE the decor. It’s all pink and white with cool pics on the walls, and even a pink and white candy bar. It’s a HIP spot! I could hang out here all day!I was so impressed that I talked to Sandi about partnering on some things. Stay tuned for news on that.
